Amber Hopper serves as the Sr. Industrial Engineer for Powertrain Engine Assembly at the General Motors Manufacturing Complex in Spring Hill, Tennessee. In her twelve years at General Motors, Amber has held variety of vehicle and powertrain manufacturing positions such as Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Operations Supervisor, Global Supply Chain Engineer, Stamping Launch Coordinator, and Lead Industrial Engineer for the Small Gas Engine launch. She has wide-ranging experience in vehicle interiors and exteriors, stamping operations, engine machining (blocks, cranks, heads) and engine assembly. Amber’s expertise is in continuous improvement, job layout and training, and throughput analysis.
Amber received a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee, and a Masters of Engineering Management from Vanderbilt University. She resides in Thompsons Station, Tennessee with her husband Will and their two girls, Sydney and Lauren.
In addition, Amber has been very active in the Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee organization for the past six years, leading two troops and organizing camping and other service unit activities.
