Lydia Irby
General Manager, Administration, Mazda Toyota Manufacturing, (MTM)
In this role, Lydia is responsible for overseeing aspects of Corporate Administration at Mazda Toyota Manufacturing (MTM). MTM is located in Huntsville, Alabama, and is a joint venture between Toyota Motor Corporation and Mazda Corporation. This facility is the only North American manufacturer for both the Toyota Corolla Cross and the Mazda CX-50.
Lydia has 19 years of experience with Toyota. She joined Toyota in 2006 as an HR analyst at Toyota Auto Body California in Long Beach. During her time at Toyota, Lydia served in several leadership positions within Human Resources, working at five different facilities, three headquarters, and an overseas assignment in Japan.
Prior to joining Toyota, Lydia served as the Principal at Light & Life Christian School in Long Beach, California. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University, a Master of Business Administration in Operations Management from The University of Southern California, and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from The University of California, Berkeley.
Lydia enjoys traveling, photography, and learning languages, speaking both Japanese and Spanish. She has served in leadership positions with the Women Influencing and Impacting Toyota and African American Collaborative Business Partnering Groups (BPGs) at Toyota.
Lydia serves as a Board member for the Southern Automotive Women’s Forum, and is a part of Leadership Greater Huntsville’s L-39 Flagship Class.
Lydia has one son who resides in sunny California, and she lives in Huntsville, AL with her dog, Java.
